Still A Jam

It has been 10 years...but I still can't get enough of Hourglass. Put this one on a lot of mix tapes.

Gettin' Jacked

Yesterday, Jen and I rode our bikes up the river to the Rose Garden to watch the local pro-lacrosse team, The Portland Lumberjax play the San Jose Stealth.
Before I got into bikes, I was really into lacrosse, playing and coaching club lacrosse at Michigan State. Made lots of good buddies, had lots of fun times chasing the ball around. I finally realized that I was too small to play college lacrosse, and started focusing on ridiing and racing mountain bikes.
I hadn't been to an pro indoor game in about 15 years. I used to go watch the now defunct Detroit Turbos of the old MILL play at Joe Louis Arena. Even got down on the turf there myself one time and played a game.
I miss it.
Anyways, got to see a few pretty good players yesterday Ryan Powell, Paul Rabil, Derek Malawsky, the list goes on.
The only thing that sucked was the $8 beer and the $5 hot dog...

Artcrank 09

The above photo is Brent Gale of Twin 6's entry in this years Artcrank Poster show. Last year I rolled up there last year with Jesse and stayed with Hurl. I think my liver has never been the same, but damnation it was a good time. If you are in the midwest and even thinking about checking this even out, DO IT! Good folks, great art, etc. Also, it is going down in Denver this year as well.

This Is What I'm Talking About!

9th Annual Folks! Can you believe it? Big props to the cyclists of Marquette that just keep delighting me year after year.

From The Get Real File

MSNBC is reporting that some Roman Catholics in the Detroit metro area are upset that the Tiger home opener against the Texas Rangers is during holy hours on Good Friday next month. Seriously? Being a Catholic and a Tiger fan, I gotta tell you: Let them boys get to playing some ball. For real.
Then again, maybe they are hoping for a little help from the big guy up stairs. I hear St. Peter is a pretty good clutch hitter.

Think About It

"You stick your head above the crowd and attract attention and sometimes somebody will throw a rock at you. That's the territory. You buy the land, you get the Indians."
David Lee Roth

Seattle City Light

Here is another dose of detail. Our friend Tonya took this shot for me as we wandering around downtown Seattle last month. Cool city, been there a couple of times now. Gotta get back this summer for sure. I'm fascinated by Pacific NW native imagery.

It's All In The Details

Loving the details of my new City.

Sorry for blasting out of here earlier with no reason the other day...just pinned the last little while and things were getting heavy.
The creative juices have been flowing, the above images are the proof. Behold the fruition of dreams: The _3wrencho and Your Local Bar! A couple of things that were bouncing around the old brain, got to my lips, lips to pen, pen to vector, vector to models, models to, well products.
The Wrencho is in production and will be in shops world wide by the end of May. That is crazy, and we are pumped. I didn't do it alone...and that is what makes it even better. This collaboration is only beginning, and already it is amazing me all the time.
The bar is now being transported from half way across the globe, destined for use on the Battle Axe for beer/lunch/grocery runs...oh and for riding to the Yukon.

Came across the above clickable ad for Revolver a bike shop here in Portland. Loved it, thought I'd share.

Trudgin On

I'm certain that every blogger hits the wall from time to time. Well, count me in. I haven't been super motivated to write much lately at all. Most of my creative energy has been summoned up and poured into the company...So now I feel like I'm trudging over Gavia Pass every time I sit down to write for the Snot Rocket. I think I'm gonna take a bit of time off...we'll see what happens.

The Road

Just outside of Boston right now. Spent the whole day in and around the city visiting shops. Saw some really good stuff at several shops, but the coolest place I was in was Cambridge Bicycle. Tons of snow here, very cold. My feet got cold yesterday, and were cold until about an hour ago.
Spent the last few days up in Maine and New Hampshire after flying into Boston on Friday. Got to hang with an old buddy, Weston, for a couple of nights before he moves to Dublin, Ireland next Saturday. Sampled some great beers, some 'Portsmouth coffee', did some demolition work, ripping down some 100+ year old horse hair plaster walls, and burned the wood behind it in the chimnea at Weston and Britta's house. Good times.
Traveling for me has its was mostly good, but trying to get a decent bite to eat out here on the fringe, well right now I'm eating a bag of chips and drinking a Life Water...
