So I'm Back Up In The Game

Never Trust A Big Butt And Smile

I learned that in 9th grade. And it was good advice.

New Mag

Had lunch with Slate Olson from Rapha Continental a couple of days back. We talked about a bunch of stuff. I mentioned that while i love Rouleur Magazine, Jenny won't let me buy it because each issue costs $20 (16 Pounds). Slate apparently felt my pain, and set me up with issue 12.
Yeah, it's a good issue. They all are.

DC Shoes & SE Racing: 3 Years of Radness

A few weeks back, I posted about the pending SE/DC bicycle collaboration. Just doing a little research on the history of this partnership. For the last two summers the two companies have gotten together to release a couple pretty sweet BMX bikes, a 24 inch Quad Angle cruiser in 2008, and a PK Ripper in '07. In July of this year, according to what I read on Highsnobiety, we're gonna see a 2009 take on the project. Like I said before, I have a soft spot in my heart for both companies, so I'm stoked. If you get a chance, the bike is actually featured in a pretty slick ad that is currently running in Urban Velo issue #13, check it, and the mag out.

The High Desert

Jen and I just spent a few days riding and hanging out in Bend, OR. The high desert suits me, I gotta say.
Rode again at Grey Butte, only there was no snow this time, lots more single track and cows. Some of the views were incredible...as were some of the cow patties. Then rode some of the Phils Trail network just to the west of the city yesterday...not too bad, especially when you consider you can ride your bike there.
Back in Portland today, but bound for North Carolina tomorrow for my little Brother's Wedding this weekend.

Check It

Craft

Someone left a comment on Bummer Life a couple of weeks ago about the book "Another Bullshit Night In Suck City" by Nick Flynn. I reserved it at the Multnomah County library and finally got it late last week and blasted through it in a few days...wow. If you can get your hands on it, do it.

Meeting Of The Minds

The first meeting of the Pacific Northwest Chapter of Former Lakeshore Bike Employees. Sadly, there was no Togos subs. Or Pasta Shop. But as you can see, we drank plenty of expensive beer.

Hmmm

Yessir.

Fort Panic

Dan Martinek proves the point:
You can take the man out of Fort Panic, but you can never take the Fort Panic out of the man.
